There are two types of fee Charged by Canadian Immigration Authorities:
Visa Processing Fee
Right of Landing Fee
Visa processing fee in Independent and Family Class Categories, for principal applicants and all adults (above 19 years) is Cdn$500. Visa processing fee in Business Category for the Principal Applicant is Cdn$1000. Visa processing fee in all categories for minors (below 19 years) is Cdn$100. Right of landing fee of Cdn$975 is applicable to all the categories for applicants over 19 years. Visa processing fees is payable to the Immigration Authorities in the form of bank draft at the time of filing the case. There is an option of paying the Right of landing fee, at any point during the application process or at the time of submission of the application (up front). Right of landing fee is refundable in the event of an applicant being unsuccessful if paid up front, whereas Visa Processing fee is non-refundable.
Visa Processing fee and Right of Landing fee are also payable in other foreign currencies at the exchange rate fixed by the Immigration Authorities.
The Principal Applicant may decide to file his/her own case only, thereby not paying the Visa Processing and Right of Landing Fee for remaining family members. In that case h/she is entitled to sponsor the remaining family members only after landing in Canada, by paying visa processing and right of landing fee at that time.
To apply for Health card, authorities need a copy of the rent deed of rented accommodation and proof of bank account. House owners are apprehensive in renting out properties to new immigrants due to lack of credit history and not having the job and reference checks. Is at all a few agree, then two months rent with one-month security is taken. If the immigrant moves out prior to staying for the period of rental agreement (usually 6-12 months) due to his job being far way then he per-force loses the advance. Renting an accommodation closer to job place, furnishing it and to have access to other basic amenities costs the immigrant quite a substantial amount.
